His fashion, beauty and commercial photography has appeared in the world’s top publications including VOGUE, HARPER’S, TOWN & COUNTRY, MARIE CLAIRE and The New York Times Sunday Magazine. His fine art photography has been published in ARTFORUM and STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY magazines.
Harold Naideau is also an accomplished portrait photographer who has photographed: David Bowie, Andy Warhol, Catherine Deneuve, Gina Davis, Robin Williams and Kiss, the Mayors of New York City, as well as the inhabitants of the boroughs of New York.
Harold Naideau blends the traditional qualities of fine art photography with the state-of-the-art technologies and techniques of digital imaging utilizing a changing array of modern materials and processes.
His vision spans the works of the Great Masters to his discerning attempts to clarify our complex world; one filled with disparate and often conflicting imagery set amidst a changing, modern, constantly evolving landscape that includes images from the parched plains of Death Valley in Nevada to the used auto-parts dealers and body shops of Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.
Harold Naideau says: “Every one of my successful images has history contained within it that may not ever become apparent. We live in a world surrounded by millions upon millions of images and they become a part of our subconscious. They wake up with us as soon as we open our eyes every morning. My camera captures the moments and movements within the frame, in front of me. My perspective is dictated by the moment and no decisions are really deliberate. Everything has been pre-determined within our subconscious mind. We struggle to control what we show to others and are constantly aware of the power and effect of this very powerful medium — photography.”
Harold Naideau has written and published two books: “Women On the Wall: Graffiti’s Urban Mythology” and “The Still life”. He regularly lectures at several New York colleges and universities on Art History, Fine Art Photography, Digital Imaging and Film Studies.
He exhibits his work regularly across the country and his stock photography is represented worldwide by AdobeStock and Getty Images.
